    The cuckoo is a bird about the same size as the crow. Like the swallow she goes away in September and does not come back until June. She is a very lazy bird. She builds no nest she lays an egg in another birds nest generally in a raveóg's. When the other birds come out she puts them out of the nest and keeps the whole nest for herself. She sings in a very high tree. In the Summer people like to hear her singing. She sings her own name.
    The corncrake is about the same size as the cuckoo. She is a grey colour with a long beak. In the meadow she sings and she also builds her nest when the farmer's
