    got several prizes for knitting socks or different designs and white knobbly crotchet quilts. She said that most of the women of her day were engaged in like work.
    Some years ago the boys wore long flannel petticoats called "waggoners" and went around bare-legged and bare-footed. Sometimes they were made out of what was called "Winsy" or "Belmoral". At about 19 or 20 years of age they donned a corduroy breeches which would be purchased for 5/= (5 shillings).
