    When sweet Kelly's ert when the Phoenix were dawning,
    I went to the Fair and my Cattle I sold
    To buy for my father a vest and a trouser,
    A pope for my mother, Tobacco and brogs
    2.
    I sold the two cows and a sheep to a dealer,
    And he paid me the cash both in silver and gold,
    And Biddy abused me and called me a "schemer"
    And left me blind drunk on the side of the road.
