- Many years ago the people of Burrenmore used to make meal. They used to store it in barns in sacks. When they would be asleep at night somebody used to come and steal the meal. The next morning when they met they would ask one another "Cen áit a ndeacha an mhin." The other would say "Cuaidh sé amach Bóthar na Míne." That is how our road got the name of Bóthar na Míne.
