  1. There was a man who had a cat. He was a very wild and fierce cat. He would not come into the house because the terrier used to chase her. When she got her chance she would search for milk. One evening when the man came in the cat had all the milk drank on him. He took down his gun and shot the cat. The next evening when he came in the cat had a good [deal?] of the delph broken. He took down his gun and shot him again. That night he went visiting to a neighbour's house. There was an old woman in the house and when he told her his story she told him that when he would shoot her again to dig a deep hole and to put her into it and to put a flag over her. He did so and she did not rise again
