    altar. He asked them if they would allow him to finish Mass and the soldiers said they would not but the leader of the soldiers said he would give him ten minutes to finish Mass and if he (did) had not it said within that time he would kill him where he was. He had Mass finished before the ten minutes were up and the priest told the leader he could do whatever he liked with him now as he had Mass finished. The soldiers took the priest and hanged him on a beech tree at the end of the college lawn near the miking-shed field and he is buried under a layer of rock in a lime stone quarry in the same field.
