- Deirtear go raibh eascú an-mhór i Loch Laogh uair amháin agus bhí sé comh mór sin go raibh sé in ann beithidheach a thabhairt ón dtalamh isteach sa loch. Bhí feilméar in a chomhnuidhe in aice leis an loch agus bhí bó aige. Bhíodh laogh ag an mbó gach bliadhan agus thagadh an eascú suas ón loch agus thógadh sé an laogh leis. Tháinig fearg ar an bfeilméar agus dubhairt sé leis an maor dá mbheadh an beithidheach tógtha an uair seo go marbhóchadh sé é. Chuaidh an maor go gabha agus rinne sé claidheamh dhó. Chas an eascú suas agus chuaidh sí go dtí an loch agus nuair a chuaidh sí isteach ins an loch chas an t-uisge dearg le fuil. Ní fhaca aon duine an eascú tar éis sin. Sin é an fath a tugadh Loch laogh ar an loch sin.
