  1. When a man of the name O'Malley in Corthoon was digging an old sandpit he found a bag of old coins. He cleaned them and found they were old pennies dating back to the fifteenth century. He sold them to a man in Tuam for two pounds. The man in Tuam sent them to the museum.

  2. There was once a man called Kevin Davin. This man used to write poetry in English. He is supposed to have lived in an old house in Pat Davins field on the side of Dalgan road. this is a verse of a poem he wrote.
