    About thirty years ago there was a great hauling home procession in Ballyragget.
    Mr Stanard and his bride were driving to their home in the village, numbers of the young men of the neighbourhood went out to meet him, they took the horses from under the carriage, took hold of the shafts and pulled the carriage and occupants round the village. Before they would let him out of the carriage they made him give the price of a barrel of ale. The barrel was bought at O'Tools public house and the crowd celebrated Mr Stanard's hauling home.
