  1. There is a graveyard in Killuran. Long ago, when the people did not know how to make coffins, they only put a habit on them, and laid them on big wide boards and carried them on their shoulders to the graveyard. Long ago, when young children died before they were baptised, there were buried in a graveyard called a Koyle. This was a graveyard specially laid out for them, for the church would not allow then Christian burial.
    Killuran graveyard got its name
