  1. One night my father had to go in a long journey across a lonely mountain. He had not gone far when a big tall black man walked up by his side and took the pipe from his mouth and smoked it. They walked on together until they came to a stream. My father stepped across the stream. It seemed that a ghost could not cross the stream. He reached for the pipe when the ghost caught him by the hand and pulled him into the stream where they struggled some time. But father had two affectionate dogs, an Irish terrier and a grey hound which came running
