  1. In the townland of Termon there lived in times gone by a famous fighting family of OReillys locally known as the Tom Bans.
    One of these James Reilly and two neighbouring boys went to Australia and on the way there was a great storm. It appears that that, the Irish passengers were locked in the hold but they broke out and attacked the crew which even is commemorated in the following song written by the Poet Trainer of Termon a relative of Rev O.F. Traynor Diocesan Examiner.
    You rambling boy that hear
    no noise
    I hope you will draw near
    And likewise pay attention to those
    few lines you'll hear.
    Concerning a few heroes bold
    That left their native shore
    And safe landed in Australia and each
    other do adore.

    those heroes went away
