  1. In the town land of Carriga there was a fort. It is supposed that it was the Danes who built it there. The following story has been told about it.
    A man named, Peter Gillic father of the present Thomas Gillic of Carriga took a stone from the edge of the fort to use it for building. In a short time his cattle took ill and died. He then left back then stone where he got it and his good luck returned.
