  1. On the road leading to Kilnaleck there s a steep incline locally called "Leahery" brae. At the foot of this hill there is a shore. One day when a man was making this drain, it collapsed and the man was killed instantly. Ever since this shore has been called the "dead shore".

  2. On the road leading from Crosskeys to Stradone there is a big hill and it is always referred to as "Market Hill". It is a very sheltered place and it was there the old Irish held their fairs and markets and thus it got its fitting title "Market Hill".
