  1. In this district many are the customs concerning marriage. The people still go by the different rhymes in order to shin the unlucky periods for marriage. These rhymes concern the months of the year and even the days of the week as:
    "Marry in May
    You will rue the days"
The poems concerning the days are more numerous but the people rely on the old ones as:
    "Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no luck at all"
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
