  1. Tore Agitation
    The following poem was written in 1921 when the cattle were being driven off McKennas land in Tore. It is situated about a mile from Tyrrellspass and my house is a cottage built on the land that was divided then. Tore House was burned and the police had to mind Mr McKenna.
    We are the tenants backed up by the league. For we don't care for Carson, McKenna or Craig.
    For we don't care for Carson, McKenna or Blount,
    And we'll drive these ould pellars right out of the front.
    When our poor Connacht Ranger, Are dead in the trench,
    A hundred ould pellars lie up at the bench.
