  1. There are a great number of cross roads in this district. There is one at the top of this village. Long ago there were gates there. When people were going through the gates with carts they had to give a half-penny known as the halfpenny corner. There are many other cross roads going through the village.

  2. There is a fort near here in John Hynes field. It is in the shape of a table. There is another in Roches field in Rathgarret. There is one also in Leeches field Gneevebawn.
