  1. The people long ago used different food from the people nowadays.
    Oaten meal was used very much.
    They made cakes out of it "Wet" with water.
    They people used not to take milk in their tea. Instead they used to steep oaten meal in buttermilk and the called the mixture sowens.
    The people made oaten meal cakes and boiled them in boiling water and called them oaten meal whelps. they then took them up and put sugar on them and ate them.
    Indian meal bucks was used very much too.
