    The sparks that fly from the red-iron are said to be very dangerous. The smiths were always looked upon as being very strong men. The forges are great places for story-telling and news and alot of people attend the forges on winter nights to listen to the stories. The time of the trouble in Ireland the forges were noted for being a great hiding place for the people.
