  1. There are a great many holy wells situated around this locality, and they are said to have been visited by saints long ago. It is said, if people go, to a Blessed well, and do rounds, and leave some little token there, they will be cursed of any disase they suffer from.
    The most commonly known well around this locality is situated about half a mile from my house. It was in O'Malley's field, but one morning, a woman was out milking cows, and she went to this well and washed her hands in it, and on that account, it moved to the other side of the road. It is now situated in Devane's field. Long ago, it is said, when St. Brigid was in Kildare, that she visited this place, and a little bit away from the well, there is a rock, and the print of Saint
