  1. Finian Bán was a half demented old idiot who fancied and wanted to make the people believe that he walked and talked with the good people or fairies. He never had a home of his own but 'cadged' around among his friends and relations and the one trousers never saw the top of his toes. He never undressed but slept on the back of a chair to be ready when the good people would call him.
