- Within the last sixty years there lived in our midst a comely old Irish lady who firmly believed in fairies. This old woman lived alone in her little
mud-walled cabin which was to be seen in this district. Before she would retire to bed she placed on the table food for all her dead friends. There was also a blazing fire and a lighted candle all for the accomodation of what we call the good people. She would lay awake all during the night waiting for the company to arrive. She would then call them by their names to instruct them about the regulation of the table and the taking of their meals.
The night of this old woman's death, as the wake was in progress, a white horse was seen(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
