  1. " A BUTTER-PRINT " ( Sketch )
    Made about eighty years ago by a Turner who used to come to Dunmanway. Use to make " pats " of butter. Air vent at foot of handle. The turner also made pigíní, eggcups, buckets skimming dishes.
    The Pigín was used as a drinking vessel. Was about 8 in. high and 6 across

    The Skimming Dish was a shallow saucer-like vessel used for skimming the cream off the " keelers " of milk. The keelers were in use until fifteen or twenty years ago -
    tubs about eight inches high and two-and-a-half feet in diameter.
