for this dreadful purpose are to be seen yet. There is a celtic cross beside the castle where James Hamilton died when out walking. This sudden death was looked upon by the people around as a punishment by God for the families'evil doings in priest hunting.
It was in this family of Hamiltons that Squire Folliard and his daughter Helen the 'Cailin Ban' were on holidays, when Willy Reilly the famous Irish raparee got acquainted with Helen.
The story of this romance is told in W.Carltons famous novel called 'Willy Reilly'
