    A Fairy Story.
Some years ago, there lived in the townland of Carrickanoran a family named Mc Carney. One night, the woman of the house went to the shop and did not return.Everyone was looking for her.One night, she came to her husband in a dream and told him that the fairies would be riding on the wide part of the lane that same night and that she would be on a grey horse, and that he was to be out with the pothooks to put them round her neck. But the husband missed the wife and he heard her crying. The next morning blood was seen on the lane and it was said that the fairies killed her.
