- Christmas is a very joyful time. Christmas comes but once a year and when it comes it brings good cheer. One of Christmas customs is that shopkeepers give credit to their customers. Another custom is that of people that have friends in foreign countries they get postcards and other presents from them also. Long ago when men would get drunk in the towns they would have rows. Most people light candles in every window in the house as an old custom in honour of Christmas.
