  1. (continued from previous page)
    Hunger is good sauce
The truth never choked a man
A full purse makes a light heart
    One penny gets another
    An empty sack doesn't stand
    The truth is often better
It is not possible to be eating meal and whistling
It is difficult to cut wool of a goat
A borrowed horse has hard hoofs
The hills are green far away
There is no feast till toast and no torment till marriage
    Many hands make light work
A bird in the hand is worth two in a bush
Nature breaks through the eyes of a cat
A rolling stone gathers no moss
    Curiosity killed the cat
Too many cooks spoil the broth
Early to bed and early to rise makes a man
    healthy wealthy and wise
Late to bed and late to rise makes a man a beggar before he dies.
Make hay while the sun shines
A good race is better than a bad fight
Economy is half the battle of life
A stitch in time saves nine
For the want of a nail the shoe was lost
For the want of a horse the battle was lost
