I am a ancient pony; And Lady is my name

    (1)
    I am a ancient pony,
    And Lady is my name,
    For working in all harness
I have won the greatest fame
    (2)
    Fair well unto Greaghettiagh Hill
Where I spent many a day,
And if Phil Joe had got his will
He was not hard to please.
    (3)
    He never over-loaded me
    In eather slipe or cart,
But he sold me to James Jennie
'Twas he who broke my heart.
    (4)
He grazed me well for six long weeks
    Upon the Temple's Hill.
Then he brought me over to Crockmahattina
Where they never had their fill
    (5)
He tied me to an old ash bush,
Till my bones got very bare,
Then he put me in an old spring-cart
    And drove me to Killinkere
    (6)
    Early next morning
