- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)lower part is called the body and the top part is called the crib. The churn is wide at both ends and narrow where the crib joins the body about twelve inches from the top. The lid has a large hole in its centre for the dash to move up and down.
When the churning is finished the butter is washed with cold water then salted and formed into rolls and prints.

When there are people churning if anyone comes into the house they say "Good luck to the work" and they help them with the churning.
