- Monover was not an Irish giant he came from Norway or Sweden, and why he came was this, there was once in his day a famous giant in Ireland called Finn, and Monover was listening to stories about Finn's greatness for a long time, so at last he set off for Ireland till he would see for himself, and beside there was no great giant he had heard of, but he had beaten.
When Finn heard that Monover had landed, he told his wife the trouble he was in, she once thought of hiding him in bed.
Then Monover came to Finn's house, it was a wild day and the first remark he made was "This is a very windy day and besides this house is facing the wind." Finn's wife answered "If Finn was at home it wouldn't be so." "What would he do?" enquired Monover.
He would lift up the house and turn the back of it to the wind,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
