The house used to be thatched but no slated. There used ot be roofs on the houses. Peter's (Egan) chimney is made out of brick. Mary Minnock had a but in Duffy's pont and she had a little hole in the roof. Pter told me that they had nothing (no glass) in the windows. They had lime and sand before cement. They used to have rushes and Bog - deal for lights. Peter saw a house with a hold for the chimney.
