  1. The Kiln which is in the Street Mill was burnt a couple of times but there wasn't much damage done.
    It was burnt by the grain getting too hot and then going a fire but it was quenched before much damage was done.
    This is not used now because there is one in the silo driven by electricity.
    In winter when I came home from school I used to got to the Kiln and sit beside the fire as it was too cold to go out.
    Jimmy stones was working in it the last time it went on fire about eight years ago.
    It was quenched by the mill fire engine.
    This was told to me by Phill Reilly.
