Ar an leathanach seo

  1. About half a mile outside Edgeworthstown there is a very high moat with trees growing all round it which is called Moat-a-Ward. There is a small entrance to this Moat - and it is that old that it is hard to distinguish it at the present time. Once a local tradesman (Patrick Mulervy) gathered five or six men to go to this moat to excavate it and see that they would get something.
    Operations went on very well until one of the men dug his way to a row of steps. When he got to the row of steps he had a big iron bar in his hand. As he was about to go down the steps the bar was pulled out of his hand and began to hop from step to step for almost 2 hours and it must have went down miles into the ground. That discouraged the men and they would not carry on the operations.
