I wish to tell you about Fore.

I wish to tell you about Fore. It is a small village in Westmeath. It is surrounded by hills at the entrance to the town. On both sides are large stone arches which you can drive throught. It was a fortified City long ago. In the centre of this town is a little cross with a figure of our lord engraved on it. There are also the ruins of a monastery. This monastery was burned by Cromwell's soldiers and a great number of monks were burned in it. There bones are preserved to this day inside the monastery. It was in this monastery St. Finian lived about a mile and a half from Fore. There is a mound on the side of the road with four holes - the marks of St Finians knees
