  1. There was a place in Creelaughter where Mass was said in Penal Times. There was an altar in the "Black Forth" made out of stones. There is some of the altar there yet. There was also another place where Mass used to be said. This place was in Thouna. It was in a field belonging to Johnny Corrigan. One time while a priest was saying Mass there he was caught by the Soldiers. There were about fifty Soldiers there. After a race of about two miles the priest got away from them. All the people
