    There was a man named John Connor from Creelaughter. He was supposed to be the best mower in the district he was able to mow 1 1/2 acres (Irish) he is about twenty years dead now. There is a girl in Glenmore named Nellie McNally about thirty years who became famous for broadcasting on the Radio from Athlone.
