Ar an leathanach seo
- Potatoes are the most useful crop and therefore every farmer plants potatoes. He sows about one and half acres every year. The farmer prepares the soil with his horses and plough. He ploughs the ground the first, and afterwards he harrows it to take the weeds out of the soil and then he makes ridges and then he manures it and lastly he puts down the potatoes and covers them again with the plough.
He digs them in Autumn with a spade. He buys the spade in the shop but long ago there used to be spades made by the people themselves.
The neighbours of course help each other to prepare the soil also to dig the potatoes.
