   Oh Weep those days, those Penal days When Godless persecution reigned. There are still many relics in this neighbourhood which remind us of those dark Penal Days. In a field owned by Thomas Sheerin in the townsland of Jamestown and in the parish of Castletown, there is an old fort in which Mass was celebrated in the Penal days. The track of the altar where Mass was said is still to be seen in this fort. This altar is surrounded by bushes
