Near St.David's well in Donore is an old tree, the trunk of which is shaped like an armchair. A person who suffers from a pain in the back is to sit in this chair and bless himself with water from the well. This is believed to cure the pain.
Medical science has advanced a great deal since those days, but we hear the old people saying that there was a healthier race of people because the cures which they used were nature's own remedies.
