(continued from previous page)ago an old woman named Brigid Carey lived in Streamstown who used to walk sixty miles a day. One day she set out walking to Dublin and in the evening she reached the city. When she had her shopping done she started for her home and arrived there the next evening.A few years ago there lived a man named Martin in Ballinamill and he used to mow a half an acre of hay in a day. There was also a man who lived in Ballinamill in the parish of Castletown Geoghegan named Paddy Lynagh, and he was noted for wrestling. This man died only twelve months ago.
- One person who will live long in the memories of the people of Streamstown as the champion runner of the district is Joe Mooney. He lived about one mile from the village and was a noted runner in his young days.
His greatest success was perhaps his race against a man named Cunniffe, the champion runner of Ireland and who one time was second(continues on next page)
