  1. It is during Shrove that most marriages take place. There is an old verse about marriages which tell us the Days that are lucky and unlucky.
    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday there's no luck at all.
    In this district it is usual for the parents of the bride to give money to the bridegroom as dowry. Sometimes cattle and sheep are given to and the bride sometimes brings the household linen.
    Long ago it was the custom for Mass to be said in the bride's house in the morning of the wedding and when mass was over they went to the church to be married and sometimes they went home to the bride's house for the entertainment. The night after the marriage
