2. Bread in Olden Times

   Long ago the people used have their own bread made of wheat. All the people used have wheat and they used dry it and send it to the mill and make flour of it. They used have querns at home for themselves and they used grind their own corn. There used be a round hole in the quern and they used put a bundle into the hole and wheel it round and they used have a clean cloth under the hole and the flour used be falling down into the cloth. There was other corn called barley and they used grind it in the same way as the other corn. They used bake the cake on a griddle
