  1. About forty years ago down near the Dundrum Station men used to make clogs.
    The trees for making the soles grew plentifully in the wood near by. It was called alder wood. When the clogs were made they were sent away in the train. They had no tools only specially made knives. One of the men lodged at our house. He was an Englishman.
