   1. The names of the wild-birds in Holy Cross are - Thrush, robin, magpie, jackdaw, hawk, black-bird and many others. The thrush builds in a hedge, the robin in an old wall, the magpie in a big tree, the hackdaw in a tall tree. The thrush builds its nest of mud, sticks and feathers and lays five to eight eggs. The robin's nest is of moss and feathers, the magpies' is of sticks, moss and feathers and makes a roof on it. There is a legend told of how the robin got its red breast.
