- In the townland of Martinstown there is a graveyard called Kilbreedy. It got its name because St.Brigid built a church there. One night as an English army was passing through the grave yard, the soldiers went in and knocked down the church and destroyed everything in it. The ruins of it are still to be seen.
There was also a well there and over the well there was a stone on which a priest always said Mass before the church was built. When the priest died the stone disappeared and was never seen afterwards. About five or six years after the well also disappeared. There is a stone there now where the well was long ago.
