  1. The year eighteen thirty nine was the night of the big wind. It was the worst in living memory. Roofs were taken from houses and ships were wrecked in the sea.
    Mr Elzerry lived at Ballykenry and half the roof was taken from his house and the flood ran down the stairs and out the door. His car which was in the yard to go to the creamery next morning was
