- Noonan The Runner.
Once upon a time there was a man whose name was Mr. Noonan. He was called Noonan the runner. He was born in Cappagh. He was the best runner in all Munster. He would start from Ballingrane station at the same time as the train would leave, and be in Limerick before it would reach the station. Captain John White of Nantenan sent him across to England for a challenge with the best runners there. He could have won the race, but he sold it to the English man.
