  1. Once there lived a farmer in Coolcappa. He had a number of milchs cows. Every year most of his calves died no matter how well he cared them.
    He did not know what was the cause of it until one day as his servants were spreading out manure they found a dead calf which did not belong to the farmer in the middle of a heap of manure. It was put there as a "pishogue".
    It is believed that if the owner of the dead calf was loosing her calves & put one of them into his neighbours garden that the misfortune would leave him & fall on his neighbour.
    The farmer told the priest & he told him to burn it. He did so and he never lost many calves afterwards
