   He was humane and liberal to the itinerant and stranger

   And freely entertained them at his hospitable home

   The orphan and sad widow and faint way-worn stranger

   At his mansion were all feasted and they claimed it as a home

   Great Solomon in his temple in al lhis pomp and glory

   And Becket who fell a victim to a British regal Tory (sic)

   Though good indeed have been eclipsed by the subject of my story

   I mean the Reverend Father Power of the true Church of Rome.
