    I fished out this one and will tell it as I got it.
    There dwelt on the border of this parish at the Limerick side a family named O'Clerys, who were well circumstanced and had a large supply of their own wheat stored when the famine set in. The man of the house was very harsh and selfish man that the poor got no good out of.
    In the days of the famine a lot of poor families lived in the locality and used to come to his house for food but would be refused. The woman of the house was the very opposite of her husband and when the opportunity would offer she would steal off with he apron full of grain to these poor starving people. This went on well for a time until her husband returned un-expectedly from some place he had been and met her coming out of the "house field" as they called it with her apron full of grain.
    Whether he suspected he of taking it she was not sure, but he demanded her to show what she had and she was so stunned at being caught she opened her apron without saying a word to show the contents. He looked in to see a
